My life, My closet, My journey

A portion of my desk space, right after I cleaned it up.
My desk is my favorite place in my entire house because it gives me the space to be creative and productive. It is a space I can place things that inspire me to create and work like my Becky Higgins Project life journaling cards, my washi tape (which I got off of ebay), my patterned fabric squares and my Copic markers. Usually for me, just seeing craft supplies makes me want to create something, and even if I don't have the immediate impulse it tends to stay in the back of my mind feeding me with creativity which I can then use in many different ways. I also like to keep my planner open on my desk so that I can see what needs to be done which helps me stay organized. And of course I always have to have a sketchbook near by for those moments when digital drawing just isn't enough.

There is something absolutely beautiful about having a physical drawing that I can hold in my hands and say "hey, I drew this, I made this thing". It always makes me happy when I am productive, but it makes me so much more happy when I spend a day being productive while drawing or creating something. Making art makes me feel so accomplished. Is there something like that which makes you all giddy inside? Lemme know in the comments below if there is.
Kiwi my kitty posing like the model she is
Anyway, In addition to my craft and work stuff, sometimes I get a kitty on my desk; and in moments like these I like to take the opportunity to shoot nice pictures that almost make me feel like I could be a photographer someday. The model's name is Kiwi, the I-like-to-sit-on-everything-I-shouldn't kitty that also happens to photograph very well most of the time. Then, when I get the chance to see her, I also love taking pictures of my dog Georgia (she's a mutt), but she isn't quite as easy to take pictures of due to her constant wiggling. At least she is a cutie-pie and as soon as I get her back I will probably attempt many picture takings of her.
My closet right before I did a little organizing
And last but not least, we make it to my closet. Which is probably the biggest challenge that I have at the moment and one of the things that I will be trying to work on. Last summer I finally got fed up with wearing the same 'ol boring t-shirts and jeans that I had been wearing since high school. So, I figured it was about time that I make my wardrobe match my fashion sense. Which is much easier said than done. Who knew that shopping could be so overwhelming, and the fact that I don't enjoy trying on clothes in stores only adds to the difficulties of building an entirely new wardrobe. Where to begin!? What should I buy!? I quickly learned that I would have to do this journey in baby steps and although I have made much progress over the year, I am still far from having the perfect fashion collection. But then again, arn't we always?

So I figured that it would be fun to document my fashion journey as one of the things that I focus on in this new beauty of a thing called a blog. I like the idea of one day being able to look back and see what life was like at 22 right before I made the big shift from a frumpy art student to a fashionable illustrator. I'm sure you can agree, it sounds nice. I've always been into the idea of having a blog, I just never knew what I should write about so I figured why not just write about my life and the things that go on and then I can just focus on a few things but have many things to choose from. So this is the beginning. Its going to be a great ride, so stick around and join me on my journey.

Until next time,

    1. Hello, so Journaling cards are used in scrapbooking mostly, its pretty much a place for you to talk about whatever you are scrapbooking about. So for example if you have a page dedicated to what you did on Halloween, your journaling cards would probably talk about Halloween. Hope that helps.
