Writing to myself: The Happy Mail Project

I have always love the idea of hand written, snail mail, type letters. I used to write silly notes to my friends at school because I enjoyed the idea so much, and over the years that interest has only grown. Now, as I had mentioned a while ago, I took a Modern Calligraphy online class (use this link for a $10 credit to use on any class) and I saw it as the perfect opportunity to start a little project I have been meaning to start for years. I guess I will call it, the happy mail project. The idea is simple, you write letters to yourself that you would then read years in the future on specific dates or major life moments. Such as your 30th Birthday, your Wedding day, or when you move into your first official roommate-less apartment.

The only thing I try and make sure to do is put stuff that I don't want to forget, like cool DIY projects to do for my future wedding, and or stuff that will make me smile or make me happy. They are supposed to be positive and encouraging, because I want to smile when I read them so I try and keep that in mind while I write them.

What life event would you want to write a letter for your future self to read (like your wedding day or graduation, etc) let me know in the comments bellow.

Until next time,

  1. I love calligraphy writing.. i should totally take a class on how to do it..

  2. I've been flip-flopping over the idea of taking that modern calligraphy class but your writing here has definitely made me decide that it's a yes.

Do you know if once you pay for it how long you'll have access to the videos? because I'm working full time and don't get home to late so I won't be able to work on it as often as I want until the holidays and then after that mainly on the weekends.

I don't know if I've ever commented but I do love your blog! Even if I take a little longer to do the calligraphy I think I'm going to write some physical letters, or even quick notes to my friends/family that are in different provinces/countries since I like the idea of getting mail that aren't bills as well and this post reminded me of that.

And that happy mail project is brilliant! Although I think I might get a really pretty journal and write in it so I don't lose the sheets of paper.

    Good luck with your project!

    1. Thank you so much for the lovely comment, I am glad that you like my blog. Anyway, It is a class that you have access to forever once you join it, I think all of the Skillshare classes are like that. But be sure to use the link to get $10 off because I think that particular class is more worth it when its only $10 because it does go by really quick.

I hope that is helpful for you and I would love to hear from you in the future after you have taken the class. Hope you have a wonderful Holiday season!

Thank you so much for your comment, I read all of my comments and try to reply to as many as possible.
