Sketch Sunday Week 12

Sometimes I feel like there just isn't enough super cute persons of color art in the world so I thought I would do a fun little princess mermaid drawing of an African American cutie. It's my little spin on the classic fairy tale of the princess and the frog. Tell me what you guys think!

Until next time,

    1. Thank you so much, That really means a lot to me. And yeah, everyone should be represented! It is always nice seeing people include other races and gender identities in art and other medias.

  4. She's adorable!
And yes! I concur on the lack of cute/kawaii POC--especially with mermaids! As a swimmer/surfer, I always wished there were more mermaid drawings that were a bit more identifiable.

    1. Awwwww, Thank you so much. This really means a lot to me!! The world needs more identifiable characters for the world that isn't usually represented! Thank you so much for the awesome comment!

  7. I love your mermaid - she's so cuuute! And I love that she's African American! You know, I (naively) didn't think it was important to me, personally, to see more Chinese (my ethnicity) in the media... until I got really excited when I saw a five page magazine ad featuring a Chinese model. My boyfriend asked why that was so important to me and that's when I realized how much lack of diverse media representation does matter and that no one's 100% immune.

Anyway, just found you through Chantal's blog and I think your drawings are awesome. And then I saw this post and had to comment. =) Keep up the beautiful work!
